100 IT, BT companies in Mysore during next one year
By next one year more than 100 IT – BT companies have shown their interest to come to Mysore, this was indicated by Mr. M N Vidyashankar, the IT/BT secretary of Karnataka State. He was speaking on the occasion of inauguration of Raman International Institute of Information Technology, which is India’s first Information Technology Finishing school, on Saturday.
As of now including Infosys, WIPRO in total 53 companies are functioning from Mysore. An area of 25 acres for each 25 companies has been reserved near Koorgalli and these companies will be provided incentives from state government. He also said that Mysore is going to be important IT destination in world; he also said that WIPRO has purchased 63 acres of land in Mysore.
II Branch shortly: Mysore is going to be country’s important IT training destination; the Raman Institute is going to provide 10,000 students to IT/BT sector. To fulfill that the Institute is going to open its second branch in Hebbal Industrial Area in Mysore.
The IT Finishing school at Mysore has received good response from different parts of the country. Representatives from Chandigarh government are planning to visit the Institute to collect information. There is also plan to start BT finishing school by 2008 in Bangalore.
