ready with mega layout plan
Bangalore: The BDA has said
that it is ready with its plans for a 5,000 acre ‘mega
layout.’
BDA commissioner M.N.Vidayshankar on Tusesday said the authority
will start work after legal matters (litigation around Arkavathy
Layout) are clear up. “Besides, the BDA board also has
to clear the project,” he said.
According to him, the BDA has identified an Indian agency
to do satellite surveys of the 5,000 acres needed for the
Rs.1,800 – crore project. While he would not disclose
where the project would come up (“land prices will go
up if I specify the area”), he said satellite surveys
would ensure that this project won’t be bogged down
by litigations from affected landowners.
Layout renamed: BDA’s Anjanapura
Layout is to be renamed Lal Bahadur Shastry Layout to honour
the late Prime Minister,as part of his centenary year celebrations.
On Tuesday. MP and son of the late PM Anil Shastry and his
wife manju visited the layout.
